It seems that today, lecturers are presenting new: more complicated more expensive, more mechanically challenging, appliances and brackets.
Often showing some excellent results, but also claiming unrealistic expectations and results. At the same time others suggest, that these new appliances are of no real clinical value or only produce unstable results, and any new ideas are wrong. In truth, many of these new ideas are old concepts rediscovered.
It is time to have an honest discussion of a tried and true orthodontic system and present the indications and contra indications of various directions of treatment.
