Topic: Is Zirconia a Reliable Alternative to Titanium? Scientific Evidence and Clinical Applications for Ceramic Implants
Dr. Stefan Roehling received his dental degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany in 2009. Between 2007 and 2009, he has worked for the AO Research Institute in Davos, Switzerland. Since 2009, he has held a position at the Clinic of Oral and Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery and at the High-Tech-Research-Center of CMF surgery of the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. Dr. Roehling was also pleased to accept a postdoctoral research fellowship in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX, USA under the department chair, Prof. David L. Cochran, from September 2013 to October 2014. Dr. Roehling is a speaker for the International Team for Implantology (ITI), he has been involved in many experimental and clinical studies dealing with zirconia dental implants and he has given many national and international lectures on this topic. Dr. Roehling has authored many journal articles on ceramic implants and contributed a book chapter on dental implant surfaces.
