A propos

The ITI is a worldwide Association of professionals in implant dentistry.

The objectives of the ITI are the promotion and dissemination of knowledge about implant dentistry and related fields.

The International Team for Implantology (ITI) was founded in 1980 by 12 experts planning ahead for the future of their field.

Their objective was an alliance of specialists to pursue research and development in an important and as yet untapped medical area on a voluntary and idealistic basis.

Today, the ITI has more than 15,000 Fellows and Members. Through its growing number of national Sections, the ITI ensures the exchange of expertise and know-how via a modern, quality-conscious end efficient network.

 •

As practitioners we are driven to seek out the most appropriate medical and technological solutions available in order to provide our patients with the best long-term treatment possible. The ITI supports this process through its educational offerings, of which the ITI World Symposium is its flagship event. In 2017, the theme of the ITI World Symposium is “Key factors for long-term success” and is directly linked to the importance the ITI places in evidence-based information for application in daily clinical practice.

For well over 35 years, the ITI has focused on supporting and promoting evidence-based science and has built up a deservedly strong reputation for rigorous examination of new methods and technologies. The ITI World Symposium serves as a regular meeting point for all those who are eager to hear about and experience these latest findings within the field presented by an international faculty of top speakers. The last ITI World Symposium in Geneva drew more than 4,200 participants from 80 countries.

By holding its World Symposium in Basel, the ITI has turned a full circle and gone back to its roots. The organization was founded in nearby Waldenburg and held its very first World Symposia in Basel in 1988 and 1992. Basel itself is very welcoming with a charming old town and the river Rhine that weaves its way through the city and into neighboring Germany. The meeting will be held at Messe Basel, with its newly refurbished and extended infrastructure and facilities, thus ensuring a great event for participants.

We look forward to seeing you.

Prof. Dr. David CochranProf. Dr. Daniel WismeijerDr. Stephen Chen

ITI PresidentChair Scientific Program CommitteeITI President elect

Topic Areas Plenary Sessions

Today's state-of-the-art keys

Today's state-of-the-art keys when choosing materials

Today's state-of-the-art keys when placing implants in the esthetic zone

Keys to going digital

Combining state-of-the-art keys for everyday practice with a peek into the future

New keys to new doors

Topic Areas Breakout Sessions

Keys to efficient treatment protocols

Keys to managing challenging cases

Keys to esthetic implant treatment

Keys to ridge augmentation procedures

Keys to treating edentulous patients

The young professionals program

 •

This ITI Education Week, held at Moinhos de Vento Hospital in Porto Alegre, has been designed for clinicians with experience in the field of implant dentistry. It is the first to be held in Portuguese and Spanish. The four-day course will run under the topic “From Extraction to Rehabilitation” and focus on the biological and clinical effects of tooth loss and approaches to rehabilitation, from esthetic single tooth to full edentulous complex cases. Lectures include evidence-based aspects of alveolar bone preservation, soft tissue management, simultaneous and staged bone grafts. For this edition, the topic of digital planning and workflow was added. Besides a series of lectures, the course includes live surgeries and case discussions. Participants will benefit from the significant research and clinical experience of the faculty.

Porto Alegre is a beautiful city in south-eastern Brazil. With its direct flight connections to Panama City, Lisbon and Miami, Porto Alegre is easily accessible for participants from South America as well as other Portuguese- and Spanish-speaking parts of the world. Major South American cities such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Santiago are just a two-hour flight away. The weather in November is warm and sunny, so participants may want to enjoy the weekend before or after the course visiting the nearby attractions.

Topics

Factors of tissue stability around implants

SAC Risk Factors Analysis

Treatment planning in the periodontally compromised patient

What happens after tooth loss and how to deal with it

Alveolar bone: preservation or augmentation?

Clinical decisions in extraction and implant placement

Soft tissue augmentation and management

GBR Concepts and applications

Concepts and techniques for improving primary stability

Biological failures

Restorative technical and mechanical failures

Reduced diameter implants – indications, results and techniques

Implants and bone grafts: simultaneous or staged

Short implants: indications, results and techniques

Update on Sinus augmentation techniques

Esthetic management of complex cases

Posterior mandible solutions - from staged grafts to short implants

Surgical alternatives for the Edentulous Maxilla and Mandible

Full edentulism - removable or fixed restorations: decision-making and treatment plan

Digital workflow in implant dentistry

 •

Gentili Colleghe e cari Colleghi,

Paolo Casentini

Chairman Sezione ITI Italia

Raffaele Cavalcanti

Education Delegate Sezione ITI Italia

Today's wise clinician is one who accepts the challenge of the ongoing developments in our field and who welcomes a capacity for knowledge that is constantly expanding.

Our programme is structured around Building on Treatment Plans for Successful Implant Dentistry - Planning, Decision-making and Execution. With each 'brick' added, we hope to take our participants to a new level in their approach to Implant Dentistry.

We are fortunate to have highly regarded speakers who are also practitioners to speak at our congress.
